It is the intention of Epic to grow a business with sound managers, utilizing management processes and strategic planning to form the infrastructure by which the Team will grow the business.
As the Epic businesses continue to grow, there will be the need for additional management and staff to be added to the team. The metrics which Epic utilizes to find these people are that the individual must be a team player, have a high energy level, and master the six functions of management.
Key Managers of the Team
Gregory N. Weismantel
Mr. Weismantel spent over 25 years in executive sales and marketing positions within the consumer package goods (CPG) Industry. He spent 15 years with General Foods Corporation in upper management sales and marketing positions; three years as President/CEO of Manor House Foods, Chicago; three years as a shareholder and Vice President for Professional Marketers, Inc., the largest food broker in Chicago; and three years as Senior Vice President for Louis Allen Associates, a top 100 management consulting firm located in Palo Alto, CA. In 2005, he became President of Aquatech International of Chicago, IL. Prior to founding Epic Group – Global Technology, Greg Weismantel founded and built The Vista Technology Group, Ltd as the leading trade promotion management system in the world. He grew Vista into a $12 million business, with customers such as McCormick Spices, Quaker Oats, H.J. Heinz and others. The company was later sold to JDA Software of Phoenix, AZ.
While his background is in the consumer goods industry, Mr. Weismantel also formed a management consulting firm in 1990, which developed a management process for corporations requiring management process infrastructure to include a packaged strategic planning module. Mr. Weismantel is a graduate of the University Of Notre Dame, and also holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago. He has been recognized by his peers and listed in Who's Who in America each year since 1993. In 2001, he was a finalist for the KPMG Illinois High Tech Awards for entrepreneurial accomplishment in technology.
Monica joined EPIC in 2003 following a successful career with The Vista Technology Group as their Contract Administrator. In her role as Executive Administrator at EPIC, Monica is the legal liaison in the joint venture between EPIC and AquiTec, Inc., accountable for the preparation and execution of all legal documentation for both entities while administering the security of all Intellectual Property. In addition, she manages critical time management programs for the joint venture, for internal and outsource consultants.
Ms. Decker has worked in the consumer goods software industry for over seven years, and during her tenure at Vista she was honored with the prestigious Chairman's Award as well as other achievement awards. She is also a Certified Microsoft Business Solutions Professional for MS CRM.
Prior to 1998, Monica was a senior paralegal with a distinguished law firm in Houston, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and her Paralegal Certificate from Southwestern Paralegal Institute in Houston, Texas.
Manager of Technical Services
After graduating from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, David Stachowiak joined EPIC in 2009 as its Manager of Technical Services. This role requires expert knowledge of collaboration within Data Pools, Item Data Synchronization, and Category Management functionality. David began his career with Epic as a Project Manager in data synchronization, heading up the important Initial Item Load Initiative of Unified Grocers of California. He remains active in Data Sync, and also heads up Epic Cloud Computing initiative. He has become proficient in network administration and data base administration while at Epic, and continues to manage Epic’s technology business unit. Mr.Stachowiak is accountable for Epic’s expansion into Data Recovery and On Line Backup for fleet laptops and smart phones.
Director of Marketing
Guy E. Weismantel
Guy Edward Weismantel holds the position of Vice President of Marketing, and operates on a consultant basis for Epic in relation to press relations, releases, and ad copy.
Mr. Weismantel has an extensive background in the publication industry, where he was Managing Editor for McGraw Hill's Chemical Engineering magazine for six years, prior to forming his own company. He performed marketing functions for The Vista Technology Group for the past 13 years, while heading up his own consulting organization, Weismantel International, and specializes in the area of Business to Business (B2B) processes.
An accomplished author of technical writing, Mr. Weismantel has published books related to engineering processes of filtration as well as the processes of entrepreneurship, and is a consultant for several editorial staffs in various traditional and Internet publications. Guy is an accomplished Engineering graduate of the University Of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN.
Senior Executive Consultant
John Camardella has been involved in strategic management positions with major companies since 1985, when he became CEO of Flakt Inc., of Detroit Michigan. Following a successful tenure, he became President & CEO of Asea Brown Boveri US where he grew the US Corporation from $400 million to $700 million at 42% greater profitability in 4 years through realignment of 9 companies into 3 businesses, by acquisitions, and by internal growth.
As a proven CEO professional, John heads up the Southeast market for Epic where he specializes in Strategic Planning and Organizational Change Management.
A graduate of Manhattan College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, he also attended and received certification from Stockholm University where he received an Advanced Certificate in Management.
Senior Executive Consultant
Joe Martin has worked in management and leadership for over 20 years . He began working in retail (K-Mart and Certified Grocers) in store management, purchasing and retail merchandising. On the consumer packaged goods (CPG) supplier side, he led teams in sales, space/ category management (Kraft General Foods and Wm Wrigley), information/ analytical systems and formal brand management (GlaxoSmithKline).
Located in the Chicago area, Joe has studied internationally at Cambridge, England where he received his first degree in Interdisciplinary Design (Architecture & Engineering). He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Valparaiso University in Indiana and earned his MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in Chicago. Also a student of Stephen Covey, Joe studied at the “Center for Principled Leadership” where he earned his certification as a Leadership Consultant and Developer of Managers.
