Data Sync Initiatives |
To Surround the process of data synchronization with collaborative products and services that provide high ROI (return on investment) to wholesalers and retailers.
The Epic Group has been involved in data synchronization projects since UCCnet was formed in 2000 by the members of the Uniform Code Council. At that time, the founder of Epic, Greg Weismantel, was the first official solution provider. Technicians from his company were asked to participate on the ďA TeamĒ in designing the Global Registry by UCCnetís Vice President of Operations, Fred Geiger.
What differentiates Epic from other data sync solution providers is that Epicís background and expertise is on both the business side of data synchronization as well as the technical side. Other solution providers have their expertise only on the technical side. This difference allows Epic to communicate a technical process in data synchronization with the Global Data Sync Network (GDSN) impacting category management, buyers, and key account managers involved in the business process that have Xtensible Markup Language (XML) and schema of the global standards.
This allows trading partners to experience immediate ROI in their data sync projects, well ahead of schedule.
Epic provides services and products to support data sync initiatives. In these projects there are several areas where Epic excels.
Retailer On Board Services is an area where Epic has gained valuable experience with their data sync work, earliest with with Shaws Supermarkets in Massachusetts, and then with Associated Wholesale Grocers, Kansas City, and Unified Grocers, California. By working extensively with the vendors of these retail and wholesale clients, Epic has developed a streamlined process that saves retailers over $2 million during the On Board process alone.
